    Joseph Schuman, Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Divided We Fall, online, nonprofit news organization

Elizabeth brought to the position (of associate editor) a sharp eye for copy editing. During her tenure with Divided We Fall, she continued to enhance her copy editing knowledge. She earned the Poynter/ACES Intermediate Certificate in Copy Editing and completed the four-week Associated Press Style Guide Workshop. She made a great effort to ensure that the words on the page were accurate for the tone and style of an article and that our adherence to the Associated Press Style Guide was followed. With every assignment, which was always completed on deadline, her goal was to ensure that our readers were the priority.

    Joan Vasey, Managing Editor

The Fort Huachuca Scout, Fort Huachuca, Arizona

From the beginning, Beth proved to be an extremely prolific and aggressive writer/photographer who has worked from home with very minimal guidance and direction. She is an extremely proficient journalist, a thorough and professional research reporter who provides frequent status updates regarding assignments. I have never felt uncomfortable about giving her an assignment on any topic. Her word is her bond; once committed, she always follows through and produces high-quality articles and photos in an extremely timely fashion. Beth is a consummate professional in both dress and manner, enthusiastic about assignments, highly responsible, and has both a strong and solid work ethic. Beth’s life has taken a different direction, and I accepted her recent resignation as a Scout volunteer with the deepest regret, letting her know that she would always be welcome back or can still submit occasional articles if she desires.

I highly recommend her to any gaining organization that will greatly benefit from the aforementioned qualities. If we had an open position, and if she chose to apply, I would hire her with absolutely no hesitation.

    Sven Peterson, City Administrator

    Perry, Iowa

Beth doesn’t just write an article. She writes a high-quality, well-researched, and compelling story. No detail is too small for her to consider. When Beth wrote an article on our Carnegie Library Museum, She not only located a selection of music from when our local gem first opened its doors in 1914 to accompany a Soundslide she created, but went as far as to mention the weather forecast for the library’s opening day. You can tell Beth’s passion for writing in the way she adopted our community as if it were her home town and communicated our story.

Through social media she was a successful promoter of the Carnegie Library Museum not only with her post on Travel Iowa, but also through her Twitter account and by alerting us to other free PR opportunities available to us such as the “This Place Matters” campaign. She is passionate about her work and continues to follow and support the museum by tweeting selected events. We were thrilled with her article and even more thrilled to have created an ongoing, long-term relationship with Beth.
